The North Country Chorus has been singing since 1947. Currently, we are a community chorus of about 80 members, under the direction of Alan Rowe. We rehearse weekly on Tuesday evenings in St. Johnsbury, VT. North Country Chorus is a richly diverse group. We come from near and far afield- north to Derby VT, south to Rumney NH, east to Whitefield NH, west to Craftsbury VT. Ages range from teenagers to retirees.
Our chorus is a mix of trained musicians, church choir members, music teachers, former school or college chorus members, and community music lovers. We all have different paths to master the music yet share the joy and experience of blending our voices. Auditions are not required.
North Country Chorus Mission Statement:
The object of the Corporation is educating and training its members in the knowledge and performance of secular and sacred choral and other musical works of the master composers of all ages. By means of live performances, the North Country Chorus serves to bring cultural enrichment to the public.
